Amazed by the beauty of nature, a little girl gets lost in the forest and tries to find her way back. While stumbling around she starts to perceive mysterious creatures. Will she overcome her fears and surpass herself? Victoria Wolfersberger and I have been working on this 2D animation short since spring 2015. In the fourth semester of our studies at the university of applied sciences, the idea had been born. Inspired by the book „The girl who loved Tom Gordon“ of Steven King, I started to create the concept and the first storyline of an animated short film. It turned out to become a bigger project. Luckily I got some support from Victoria Wolfersberger, who did the whole sound design, music, and special effects. That was the beginning of our successful collaboration. During the fifth semester, Petra Königstorfer joined us and supported the project with some more special effects. Will she overcome her fears and surpass herself? The students Lisa Gierlinger and Victoria Wolfersberger have been working on delusion – a 2D animation short – since spring 2015. In the fourth semester of their studies at the university of applied sciences, the idea had been born. Inspired by the book The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Steven King, Lisa started to create the concept and the first storyline of an animated short film. It turned out to become a bigger project. Luckily Lisa got some support from Victoria, who did the whole sound design, music – and also some amazing VFX. That was the beginning of a successful collaboration. Illusion or reality? The short delusion is about a girl, who gets lost in the deep parts of the forest. On her way she experiences joy, anxiety but also hope. The impressive nature as well as fascinating magical creatures show her what it feels like to be free..

Since the fourth semester of our bachelor studies Lisa Gierlinger and I were working on a 2d animation called delusion. Lisa did the great design, animation and vfx. I was responsible for the music, sound design as well as vfx. My goal was to support the story with appropriate atmosphere. The short was screened at multiple festivals around the world. Furthermore we won the Creativity Award at Fly Film Festival, Oklahoma (USA).
